What a year of laser hair removal looks like

The laser doesn’t see the hair. It sees the melanin pigment inside it. The catch is that this only works while the hair is in its active growth phase — and at any moment, only a fraction of the hairs in an area are in that phase. The rest are dormant.

That’s why you come back every four to six weeks: to catch a different wave of active hairs each time. Needing a course isn’t marketing. It’s biology.

The calendar

Month 1 — sessions 1 and 2. A visible drop in density. Treated hairs shed 10–14 days after the session; they haven’t grown, they’re being pushed out.

Months 2–5 — sessions 3–5. What remains is finer and sparser. This is where most people stop shaving.

Months 6–9 — sessions 6–8. We clear the last isolated hairs. The core course ends here.

Annually — one maintenance session. Optional. Hormones can wake dormant follicles, particularly on the face.

What you can do along the way

  • Shave between sessions
  • Have laser in winter and summer alike
  • Treat the face and the intimate area
  • Pick up where you left off if you stopped — destroyed follicles don’t come back

What you can’t

  • Wax or tweeze during the course — both pull the hair out with the bulb, leaving the laser nothing to heat
  • Heavy sun exposure in the 14 days before
  • Treat white or very pale blonde hair — there’s no pigment for the laser to act on
  • Treat skin with active lesions

What it costs

Pricing is per session and per area, published separately for women and men. For a full course across several areas we work out a package rate, payable monthly — ask at your consultation.
